What Vixxen Beauty means to me
Vixxen Beauty is more than just a business — it's a reflection of my family, my journey and everything that inspired me to turn creativity into a career. Every project reminds me why I started, and why I continue to love what I do. I've always been drawn to the creative side of makeup, and every client, every project and every character is unique — that's what inspires me every day.
Why "Vixxen Beauty"?
The name is more than a business — it's part of my identity. My last name is Fox, and it's always been a big part of my life and my family; to us, it's unity through hardship. My family and friends have always been my biggest supporters, and I wanted my business to carry a piece of them with me. The double "XX" holds its own meaning too — in Roman numerals, it marks the year I committed to building a career doing what I love.
My journey
My journey into makeup wasn't planned. After leaving an HND in Art & Design — realising it wasn't for me — I knew I still wanted a creative career; I just wasn't sure what that looked like.
2020. Lockdown. The big turning point.
What started as curiosity quickly became a passion. I spent countless hours practising and discovering just how much I loved the transformation. Following unexpected hardships, I decided to take the leap and study professionally. After more than three years away from education, I walked into my interview knowing I'd finally found where I belonged. That decision led me to qualify as a professional makeup artist — and I've never looked back.
My mission
My goal is simple: to create makeup that helps people feel confident, express themselves and bring every creative vision to life — whether that's on stage, on screen, behind the camera or for life's special moments. I believe every person deserves to feel like the best version of themselves.
Beyond the brush
I'm based in central Scotland's smallest historical county, where I split my time between my part-time job and building Vixxen Beauty. Outside of makeup, life is simple — I love spending time with my partner and our fur babies, enjoying a quiet night and finding inspiration for my next creative idea. While makeup is my passion, it's the people, places and moments outside of work that fuel my creativity.
